DIY Ugly Christmas Sweater

Every year there are more and more Christmas celebrations that provide opportunities to get out and wear the ugliest sweaters possible. The thing is, lots of them are pretty dang cute. This ugly sweater is super easy to make and is sure to win the contest for the best sweater at the party.

• Sweater (Find great ones at the thrift store!)
• Brown and Black Felt (Kunin Classic)
• Google Eyes
• Red Yarn
• Pom Pom Maker
• Fabri-Fuse Fabric Glue

It is 100% okay to substitute materials for ugly sweaters. Instead of felt, use an old pair of khaki pants or fabric. If you don’t have google eyes, make eyes from felt. Add other embellishments like bows, beads, buttons or even lights!

These steps are loose. Ugly sweaters are works of art and creativity so use your imagination and make changes where you see fit.

Cut out the reindeer head. It is simply a triangle with rounded corners.

Cut out two antlers. Make sure they will fit on the sweater WITH the head before going to the next step. Glue the head and the antlers to the shirt.

Glue the pom-pom to the bottom corner of the triangle for a nose. If you are going as a pack of reindeer, maybe make everyone black noses except for the youngest in your group. That person gets to be Rudolph!

Glue on the google eyes to complete the sweater. Let everything dry for several hours before wearing the DIY Ugly Christmas Sweater.

Once the glue on the sweater is dry, pair with your favorite jeans a bright pair of fun boots for a final adorable ugly look.
