This Is Your Sign To Crop Your Sweaters This Fall

You’re going to thank me for reminding you of the oldest, most simple upcycle trick in the book.

Cropping tops!

Every D.I.Y. enthusiast can think back to the beginning of their journey and recall the phase where all the t-shirts in their closet got up.

This autumn, we're taking it back to those days. Why?

Because it's still an easy and fast way to take any frumpy top and make it young and flattering.

This is the sweater that I'll be cropping today.

As you can see, it's way too big and doesn't compliment my body shape at all.

Luckily, there's an easy fix!

First, draw a straight line across the top where you want the new bottom to be.

With sharp scissors, carefully cut along the guide line.

*PRO TIP: use long cuts, as many small cuts will create rough edges.

Style the new top with a longer piece, like this military jacket, to make the outfit visually interesting.

I also like to pair my cropped tops with high-waisted trousers. This keep the outfit from being too revealing. But this is a personal preference, and I highly encourage you to style your cropped sweater in whatever makes you feel your best.

Let me know if this upcycle idea makes you nostalgic and if you give it a try!
