DIY: Top With Bows
Simple ideas sometimes turn into gorgeous results. This is what happened with my last DIY; an easy one even suitable for those people who think they are not made for DIYing (believe me, you can do this one!). This is just one simple way to give a kick to a boring plain top with some bows. Look below to follow the few steps to transform yours.
MATERIALS
- Top
- Vichy checked ribbon
- Thread and needle
- Scissors
- Pins
Create bows with the ribbon. After cutting them, you can optionally burn (carefully) the tip of them with a lighter, in order to avoid it to fray. I had to different tops, one in navy and the other in bone, and wantesd to know in which one the bows had the result I was looking for. I decided for the bone one
Place the bows in a vertical line in the middle on the front part of the top. Fix them with pins. With double thread, sew the bows creating a cross in the middle of them (see the pictures). Simple and cute, isn't it? If you decide to try it, I'll me glad to see your own versions. Did you saw the look I made with it some days ago?
