Put Your Earring on Your Top Instead of Your Ears
Your knitted crop top still looks good but you’re bored with it?
How about giving it a fresh, different look - with an earring. Yes, really!
Tools and materials:
- Knitted or stretch top with straps
- Stud earring
Any style of stud or cluster earring works for this as long as it has a post and a butterfly back.
You could at a pinch use a drop earring on a wire, but you may need to fiddle with it, to get it to hold the straps together.
1. Grab your earring
Yep, the first step is really that simple.
Hold the earring in one hand and the butterfly back in the other.
2. Attach the earring
Decide where you want the straps to meet
You don’t want to put too much strain on them, or the earring could pop off.
Insert the earring post through the outside edge of one strap and push it towards the other strap.
Use your other hand to bring the two straps together.
Push the post through the second strap and attach the butterfly back.
Make sure it’s secure.
And there is your new-look top!
Knit top hack
A knitted top works best for this but if you don’t mind extra holes in your straps, then by all means try this hack on a cotton one.
As long as you can push the post through both straps and they have a little stretch, it will work.
