Ruffles and Gingham, What a Perfect Match! [Sew What? Series DIY Top M

[This DIY top was made for and modeled by my daughter Mori]
McCall's patterns have been off the hook this summer! I usually have a ton of Simplicity patterns on deck but McCall's is what's hot right now. This Top M7602 was a must have. I love this ruffle top and I did give it a tad bit more drama. Now I must admit that I bought the shoes first because I could not resist a gingham pair of shoes. Now here's the funny part, they aren't even for me but I figured I would sew Mori a top in gingham to compliment these beauties. The shoes are from shoedazzle
Let's talk about the pattern for a second. This was a fairly easy construction process once I figured out my hack. I did have to take in 1.5 inch on the front ends that wrap at the waist. I did not want to chance going down a size because of her bust.t But after completing this top, I know that a size 12 would fit her almost perfectly.
It's all about those ruffles!

Love it on you but may look silly on a 77 year old like me. Lol
