4 Little Black Christmas Dress Outfit Ideas, From Casual to Glam

In this lookbook, I’m going to show you how you can style a little black Christmas dress! An LBD is undoubtedly the most classic type of dress you would find in a woman’s closet and if you don’t have one yet, you definitely need one.

An LBD can fit any occasion, you can style it in different ways, and there are so many types of little black dresses out there. Check out these four LBD Christmas party looks that I’ve put together!

Leather LBD for a Christmas party

1. Leather LBD

This first dress is a bit different and not one you would consider a typical style of LBD. The material is leather, and it’s also in a jumper/overall style.

I wanted to give the dress a pop of color, so I paired it with a red long sleeve turtleneck top. I love that you can layer underneath so many different types of tops with this dress.

For shoes, I added a pair of red ankle booties, which helps to keep this look simple with a nice little festive touch. To finish the look, I opted for a black bag with some gold chain details to add another detail to this look.

I’ve styled it with a pea coat in a houndstooth print for an outerwear option. It definitely adds a pop of print to this LBD.

Black bodycon maxi dress for Christmas

2. Bodycon maxi dress

This next dress is not strictly an LBD - it's a long, maxi-length dress in a bodycon style. This dress is very sleek and chic, and there’s something sexy about it but still in a sophisticated way.

I accessorized it with a gold headband and a gold watch. The trick to your LBDs is to use accessories to bring some personality and flair to the outfit.

I added a pop of color for shoes with these red pumps that have a studded style, and for a bag, I added a small red bag with a thick gold chain detail.

I love how this outfit is mostly black and has some gorgeous yet subtle red and gold features.

3. One-shoulder LBD

Next up, this dress here is what I’d call a party LBD. It is a one-sleeve dress in a bodycon style with a nice little flare on the bottom.

I feel like the dress alone, even though it’s plain black, already has a lot of nice details. All you need to do is add a few accessories to kind of finish off this look.

I styled my hair in an updo and added a pair of silver dangling earrings. These earrings help dress up the look and give it that party vibe.

For shoes, I added a pair of pumps in metallic silver. Lastly, we have this fabulous purse which is just perfect for the holidays. It's all silver with a rhinestone fringe on the front.

Wearing a bright fuschia coat over an LBD

For the outerwear option, I’ve added a fuschia-colored coat to add a pop of color. I didn’t want to go for your typical red Christmas color, and this trendy fuschia shade works perfectly for this LBD look.

4. Long-sleeved mini LBD

The last LBD that I’m sharing with you is this one in a long-sleeve style with a bit of a flare on the bottom. I added a pair of sock-style ankle booties with a clear transparent heel that gives them a nice little trendy touch.

As a layering piece, I added a red plaid blazer which is a great color and print for Christmas. I rolled up the arms of the blazer a bit to have the dress sticking out. Rolling up the sleeves seems like such a minor detail, but minor details can really make an outfit.

Lastly, I added a black belt with a gold buckle over the open blazer. This is a great way to style your blazers if you feel like just an open-front blazer looks a little too plain.

I like dress #1 and #2. I prefer to have #2 to my knee. dress #3 I think I would be cold to wear. I like my arms covered. Maybe a shrug to cover dress #3 in silver faux fur. Love the earrings for dress#3.
