This is a stunning way to wear a scarf as a headband. It’s a look that could easily be dressed up for a wedding. Or you can wear it, as I do, for a glam night out.

Tools and materials:

  • Bendable headband
  • 1 meter square silky scarf
Knotting scarf

1. Knot

Fold the scarf in half diagonally and knot the two points together.

Passing wrist through scarf

2. Pass through

Put your wrist through the scarf so the knot is on top.

With your other hand, pick up the point nearest to it and pass it through the scarf under your wrist.

Passing wrist through scarf

Pick up the other free point so you’re holding both together and bring both points back through the scarf.

Twisting scarf

3. Twist

Hold one point in each hand and twist the two points around each other twice.

Passing under

4. Pass under

Take the point in the hand that has the scarf back through the loop in the scarf and let the knot slide off your wrist.

Creating rose

5. The rose

Pull the two ends apart.

Creating rose

The rose appears under the scarf as you pull the ends tight.

Headband

6. Headband

Thread the headband through the back of the rose.

Adding scarf to headband

Wrap the ends of the scarf over the headband to hide it.

Wear the headband and tie the ends under your hair at the back.

How gorgeous is this? Practice tying the rose a few times before you need it.
