How to Make a DIY Beaded Hair Comb For a Wedding or Special Occasion

In this tutorial, I will show you how to make a beautiful DIY beaded hair comb that is bridal-worthy. If it’s your wedding, or a friend’s wedding coming up, this elegant beaded hair comb will be a stunning addition to a bridal hairstyle.
Tools and materials:
- Jump rings
- Platinum iron twisted chain
- Stainless steel headpins
- Small Tibetan-style filigree tray
- Clear glass cover to match the center of the filigree tray
- Platinum hair comb
- Acrylic beads
- Clear glue
- Epoxy putty
- Scissors
- Gloves
- Sandpaper
- Pliers
1. Prepare your hair comb
If your hair comb is wider than you want for this project, just trim it to size with pliers and sand the rough edge so it’s smooth.
Also sand the center of the top of the hair comb, to make a rougher surface for glue to stick better.
2. Prepare the epoxy glue
Before using epoxy glue, make sure to put on your gloves. Cut off a slice of epoxy glue.
Work the epoxy glue between your fingers until the slice turns an even shade of light blue.
Press the epoxy glue onto your filigree piece.
And press the filigree piece onto the top of your hair comb. Let it dry for at least 2 hours.
3. Paint the center (optional)
If you wish, you can paint the center of your filigree piece. Other options are to place a small photo inside or fill it with glitter.
Add clear glue to the edges of your clear glass cover and press it in place over the center of your filigree piece.
4. Create the beaded chain
Add a small bead to your headpin. Then use pliers to bend the headpin 90 degrees, and then loop it back in the other direction. Repeat until you have 8 of these beads on headpins.
Thread the beads onto a 9-centimeter (3.5-inch) long piece of chain.
Cut a 12-centimeter (4.7-inch) length of chain, and attach both chains to the hair comb with jump rings. Attach the jump rings to the comb on the sides of the filigree piece.
This is how the chains are attached to the hair comb.
