Tools and materials:

  • Dollar store headband
  • Dollar store head scarf
  • Hot glue-gun and glue
  • Scissors
Buying headband

1. Start with a store-bought headband

Head to your local dollar store for a plain, wide headband.

Buying hair scarf

While you’re at it, pick up a hair scarf as well.

Tying knot

2. Prep your hair scarf

Tie a single knot in the center of your hair scarf.

Prepping headband

3. Prep your headband

Apply hot glue on the outside of your headband along both outside edges and down the middle.

Also apply some glue on the inside of your headband just along the edges.

You want lots of glue to hold your hair scarf in place.

Attaching hair scarf

4. Attach your hair scarf to your headband

Place your hair scarf on top of your headband, with the knot right at the top-center of your headband and press it down to glue it on.

Wrap and press the side edges of your scarf to the underside of your headband to glue them in place.

Trimming ends

Trim the ends of your hair scarf, leaving enough to wrap around the ends of your headband.

Gluing

Wrap the ends of your scarf around the ends of your headband and hot glue them in place.
