How to Tie an Oblong Scarf

Tools and materials:

• Oblong scarf
• Scarf ring

1. Twisted loop

1. Place scarf through the ring

Place the scarf over your neck and pass both ends through the scarf ring. Leave the scarf ring right at the very end of the scarf.

2. Make a loop

Pull the scarf back and loop it around your head to make it shorter. 

3. Wrap the layers

You will have two layers of the scarf. Wrap the layer with the ring around the loop layer a few times.

You can wear it like this with the ring at the front.

Or you can move the ring to one side of your neck and spread the scarf out. Both styles look equally beautiful.

2. Big bow

1. Place scarf through the ring

Fold your scarf in half lengthways and pass one end through the ring.

2. Fold the scarf

Place the scarf over your neck asymmetrically so that the side with the ring is much shorter than the other side.

Fold the longer side like a concertina (i.e., in a zigzag pattern).

3. Pass the folded part though the loop

Pass the folded part through where the other side of the scarf loops at the ring. This will create a big bow.  

I think it looks fantastic; this is a real statement style.

3. Azalea flower

1. Place scarf through the ring

Fold your scarf in half lengthways and place the scarf ring in the middle. 

2. Wrap around neck

Place the scarf around your neck so that the ring is at the front and the two long ends are at the back.

Wrap the ends around the back of your neck and bring them forward.

3. Loop and pass through ring

Now take one end, fold it into a little loop and pass it through one side of the ring.

4. Repeat

Do the same on the other side.

This style makes me think of the droopy petals of an azalea flower.
