This is my first linen blouse and I really love it!

Stick around and I'll show you all the details for making and styling it two ways!!

As a cute and casual outfit with faded jeans OR super sexy with smart trousers!!

I'm making my blouse in a lovely light weight ivory linen from Minerva.com you can find the exact fabric here Minerva Core Range 100% Fine Natural Linen Fabric | 1276165 | Minerva The pattern is a new modern classic from Anna Allen its the Anthea blouse pattern Anthea Blouse + Dress - PDF Sewing Pattern Sizes 00-22 – Anna Allen Clothing

After cutting out the patten pieces, the first step is to fold under the button bands, stitch them down and give them a good press!

Then we stitch the two front sections to the back at the shoulder and side seams.

Next is a super simple neck finish, applying bias binding to the neck we pin right sides together then fold to the inside and stitch down!!

The puff sleeves are a really big feature of this pattern, and the gathering along the top edge is done by a double row of long stitches which will be gathered up soon

But first we have to stitch the under arm seam.

After the under arm seam is stitched we pull the loose ends of the gathering stitches, this makes the sleeve head smaller and allows us to make the sleeve fit the arm hole.

The next step is to apply the cuff, once this is completed we only have to pop the buttons on and hem the bottom and were ready to go have fun!!

Isn't it fabulous!! I love the versatility of the blouse, here I'm styling it with my favourite faded jeans, so casual and relaxed, perfect for a lazy weekend!!

As an alternative styling, I think it suddenly looks super smart with a nice pair of trousers, ready for a day at work, with anything the office can throw at me!!

I'd love to know which is your favourite styling?

Are you team Casual or team smart!??
