How to Create a Cute Low Braided Ponytail Hairstyle Using a Lip Gloss

Tools and materials:

• Clear elastics
• Lip gloss
• Curling iron

1. Section hair

Starting with clean, dry hair that's curled a little bit, section off your hair by having a decent amount of hair on either side of your head toward the front. If you had to measure it, it would be the hair from the back of the ears going forward. 

2. Make a low pony

Gather all the hair at the back and tie it into a low ponytail. Use a clear elastic and wrap the pony twice. Pull and tug the elastic to tighten the pony.

3. Add the lip gloss

Place a closed tube of lip gloss into the center of your hair in the pony, with about half the tube sticking out. Tug on the elastic to make sure it is tight around the lip gloss tube. 

4. Make the faux braid

Pull a section of hair from the front on one side and pull it over the lip gloss. Tuck the ends of the hair under the ponytail.

Then, take a section from the other side and pull it over the lip gloss. Use similar size sections to pull over and start from the top front. Keep doing this technique until you’re done with all the sections of hair.

5. Take the lip gloss out

Grab all the sections you placed under the big pony with your non-dominant hand. Take the lip gloss out of your hair.

Move your big pony out of the way. Place another elastic around the shorter pony of your braided hair ends.

Flip your big pony back over and pull to tighten.

6. Final touches

Take some hair out in the front on both sides. Pinch and pull on the back braid to deconstruct the look a bit for that tousled chic look. Use a curling iron to curl the front hairs that frame your face.
