How do you feel about lemon print clothing? I love lemons, especially in the summer! I love the fruit and lemon print clothing because lemons just make me happy! In this post, I will show you how to wear a lemon print shirt, a lemon print skirt, lemon earrings, and a lemon charm bracelet, in seven different ways. I hope this will be helpful in seeing a fun print that can go from a perfect casual look to a work outfit, just by changing up the accompanying pieces.

When I was in Talbots this spring at their fashion show getting ready to shop, I saw this lemon print shirt and knew I needed to get it. I love the details on Talbots shirts and this one did not disappoint, with a contrasting pale blue print on the collar band and yellow ribbon trim on the inside of the button placket.

In this post...

Outfit #1 of the Lemon Print Clothing

This darling sof t lemon print shirt is worn with J Crew lemon earrings, and a gorgeous periwinkle blue cotton sweater draped around my neck.

I am wearing white straight-leg jeans as well as nude sandals. Pro-tip: Nude sandals work to extend the leg line by blending in with my skin tone. They look so cute and flattering with shorts and white pants.

Pro-tip: Tying a sweater around the neck is a great way to add a pop of color to one’s face.

In the above flat lay, I put the sweater over t he shirt which would be cute if it was a cooler day than when I took the photos. In the first few photos, I wore a gold bangle with my gold watch, while in the flat lay, I added the lemon charm bracelet to the lemon earrings. These earrings are such a steal! Outfit #2 Lemon Print Clothing

Here, I paired a lemon print skirt with a blue pinstriped shirt. These stripes are subtle and coordinate with the blue in the skirt. Pro-tip: A number of my readers are reluctant to wear horizontal stripes as they feel they can look wider in them. These vertical stripes are universally flattering as they make everyone look taller and more slender.

This lemon print skirt feels like it’s linen, but it’s actually canvas. And it’s lined! By being lined and made of canvas, the skirt barely ever wrinkles! Even after driving in the car on a hot day!

I wore simple gold hoops, my gold watch and bangle with nude sandals, and a tan bag (old, similar, here).

In the above flat lay, I paired the lemon skirt, the pinstriped shirt, and a mid-wash denim jacket, Then, I added the nude sandals and this terrific white pebbled leather handbag.

Outfit #3 Lemon Print Clothing

This is the dressiest look of the seven outfits in today’s post. Here, I paired the lemon print cotton shirt, with the lemon print skirt. This gives the impression of a lemon print dress, but with two separate pieces. Then, I added a white linen blazer to up the work-like quality of the outfit.

Again I wore the nude flat sandals, but you could dress this look up more by swapping in nude block heeled sandals.

Again I wore a tan bag ( old, similar, here) and my gold watch, gold bangle (old, similar, here), and “diamond stud” earrings. Pro-tip: Classic jewelry items such as a gold watch, gold bangles, and diamond stud earrings can be worn with so many outfits, even if they are costume jewelry. It’s about the classic lines of the pieces that make them so versatile.

In the above flat lay, I actually put a neat stretch tan belt at the waist and I loved the look. Pro-tip: Belts really serve to accentuate the waist. I know many of my readers, in our middle age, don’t want to emphasize this area of the body. But, by selecting a soft, stretchy belt, you will feel comfortable and look surprisingly thinner. Try it and tell me your thoughts. I would LOVE to hear from you. Comment below or DM me @drjuliemarshall.

Outfit #4 Lemon Print Clothing

In this outfit, I don’t have a photo of me modeling this look. I have a video that will be on Instagram (@drjuliemarshall). So please follow me there! This outfit is sooo fun! I paired the lemon shirt with the mid-wash denim jacket and mid-wash olive joggers. Then, I added tan lug- soled sandals and a wonderful brown cross-body bag. This bag is so versatile when worn with denim, ivory, or white. Oh, and check out the lemon charm bracelet! It is so cute.

Pro-tip: Lug-soled sandals are especially comfortable and would be good for sightseeing or a day when you needed to be on your feet for long periods of time. Pro-tip: Sometimes, the best way to experience a trend such as a lemon print item, go with some small accessories such as this charm bracelet or lemon earrings. That could be just the little detail you need to complete your summery outfit.

Outfit #5 Lemon Print Clothing

Whoa! Mr. G.Q., my husband definitely did NOT go for this outfit! He thought it was all too many patterns and too visually distracting. What do you think? I kind of like the look. I think the lemon earrings look terrific with the striped J Crew tee shirt, and you could just stop there and wear some cute jeans.

But, I was coming up with lots of lemon print outfits, so this one came to mind. I wore the striped tee with the lemon print skirt. I added the lemon earrings and even the lemon charm bracelet. Is it too much? Let me know below, please! To neutralize all the patterns, I added nude flat sandals and a darling classic J McLaughlin wicker and leather purse.

Above you can see all the accessories up close: the purse (old, very similar, here), the lemon earrings, the gold watch, and the lemon charm bracelet. Which one is your favorite? Tell me below!

Outfit #6 Lemon Print Clothing

This look is a bit more toned down than in outfit #5. I changed out a fantastic Michael Stars Maya tank from Evereve. I toned the jewelry down to gold hoop earrings, the gold watch, and a gold bangle ( old, similar, here).

My tan rattan handled bag is 20 years old ( similar, here)! The lemon print skirt has a bit of blue in it and it pairs nicely with my Kut from the Kloth medium wash jean jacket.

Outfit #7 Lemon Print Clothing

This is another outfit that takes the lemon print skirt to work. I paired it with the pinstriped shirt and white linen blazer. Here is a great post on how to wear a white linen blazer. Again for work, I wore the classic gold watch, gold bracelet, and gold hoop earrings. My tan flat sandals could be swapped out for block-heeled ones, and my pebbled white leather Coach Outlet purse is so useful with summer looks.

There you have it, my lovely readers. Seven outfits with lemon print clothing. Which one is your favorite? Did I make you smile with these different outfits? Would you wear any of these items? I hope you’ll consider some lemony pieces to add a bit of pizzazz to your summer clothes collection!
