Black denim is a great way to dress a comfy outfit up or down! I love distressed black denim for a date night outfit or a casual work outfit. Check out the different ways I style my favorite black denim.

Oversized Sweater

A super simple way to pair black denim is with a neutral colored sweater. Light denim mixed with a light neutral sweater can wash you out, but pairing with a black denim adds balance to your outfit. Here, I paired mine with a cowl neck oversized off-white sweater.

Layering with an oversized jacket

I'm obsessed with bodysuits for adding a slimming look, especially under bulky jackets and coats. They help counteract the bulkiness and give you shape underneath those big tops.

Boyfriend Sweater

I love dressing up black distressed denim with a black and gold belt. I sometimes dress my denim up for work with a boyfriend sweater. A neutral color is a versatile piece to have in your wardrobe, but a bright piece would look great, too!

Denim on Denim

Denim on denim is perfect when wearing black denim. It's a great way to wear denim on the top and bottom without going for a monochrome look. I added an oversized jean jacket over the top of this body suit to contrast the tightness of the body suit.

Monochrome with a shacket

Black on black will forever be my favorite version of a monochrome outfit! I like pairing a neutral shacket on top to layer.

Adding a chunky black boot gives this look an edgier feel when paired with the distressed hem of this jean.

Black jeans are a definite staple in any wardrobe that are super easy to dress up or down. By adding distressed denim to your closet, you can easily transition from edgier to preppier looks based on how you accessorize.

A high waisted jean is great for layering, too as it makes wearing body suits and plain tees simpler.
