I know some of you wouldn’t buy a dress like this at all, because of the bare shoulders.

Even if you did buy it, many of us would agree it’s not appropriate wear for church or business as it is.

However, a strapless dress can be modest if you style it as I suggest here.

Tools and materials:

  • Strapless dress
  • Silky button-through blouse
Wearing strapless dress

1. Trying dress on

If it fits you well, it has potential.

Adding shirt

2. Add a shirt

Find a silky, button-through blouse with long sleeves, in a color that tones with or complements the dress.

I used a white blouse with my blue dress.

Layering garments

3. Layer the garments

Put the blouse on first and fasten all the buttons. Just leave the top button unfastened at the neck.

Then wear the dress over it.

Pull the blouse down well so it lies smoothly under the dress and you have a sleek outline.

Style the dress with smart matching shoes and handbag. Add make-up and a sleek hairstyle. And now you have a new outfit for church.

Can you use this idea with a dress you own? What do you think?
