You can’t wear a mini skirt to church, can you? Or can you? With some out-of-the-box thinking, the answer is yes, you can!

I’m going to show you how to transform your mini skirt to make it into a layering piece so that you can pop it on over something else and instantly make it more modest.

Tools and materials:

  • Flared mini skirt
  • Bodycon midi skirt (or dress)
  • Scissors
Removing slip

1. Remove the slip

Start by turning the skirt inside out and cutting out the slip.

As we’re going to be layering the skirt, we want to remove any unnecessary bulkiness.

Skirt without slip

Here is the skirt with the slip removed. It might look a bit messy where you’ve cut it, but that doesn’t matter because it’s on the inside, and no one will see!

Proceed to turn the skirt the right way out.

Putting skirt on

2. Put skirt on

Now, you want to be wearing a bodycon midi skirt (or a bodycon midi dress) in the same color as the mini skirt.

Pop the mini skirt on over your head - I find that this is the easiest way. Then, pull it down to your waist and zip it up.

Here is the finished look, and I simply adore it!

Because the skirt and the bodycon dress are in the same color, it looks like one piece and has a really seamless appearance.

The midi skirt adds a beautiful flare to the bodycon dress, which gives me a gorgeous hourglass look.
