Confession time, I made a waist coat (first time ever) and I love it, I'm going to show you how I made it and then I'm going to style it three ways!!

The waistcoat pattern is a brand new one from Fibremood and its called the Vivienne!

You can find the pattern here > Vivienne Waistcoat | Fibre Mood

and I used a lovely suiting from Minerva, if you'd like to grab some its here on the website > 100% Wool Suiting Fabric Navy Blue | 1187916 | Minerva

The waistcoat is fully lined and I used a scrap of satin from a previous make, but if you really want to use the same you can grab it here.

> Minerva Core Range Prada Satin Crepe Fabric | 1197047 | Minerva

The first step was to add bust darts to both the inner and outer layers of the waistcoat front sections.

The waistcoat comes in 5 sections which are all joined together at the side seams (The lining is made in exactly the same way) so I'm not going to share pics and instructions, please just follow the instructions for both.

Strips of interfacing are attached to give firmness around the neckline. Once the interfacing is attached we stitch up the shoulder seams then we attach the lining to the outside of the waistcoat and we are almost done!!

Just the buttons and buttonholes and were ready to style it up!!

My first styling option is very 80's style just with some jeans for a sexy look!!

My second styling is with smart trousers and a linen blouse for my work wear version!!

But thirdly and I think my favourite styling option is with a cotton summer dress, I love the masculine and feminine contrast of this outfit!

Which is your fav??
