Curling Wand Vs Curling Iron: How to Achieve the Right Curl for You
Many have asked us how we achieve our curls, so we wanted to break down for you the difference between styling with a curling wand vs a curling iron.

Best curling iron and curling wand!
Tools and materials:
- Curling iron
- Curling wand
- Alligator hair clips
On the left side we’ll both use a 1” curling wand and on the right side we’ll each use the curling iron with a clamp.
Generally speaking, the curling wand gives a more relaxed, beachy wave while the classic curling iron will make refined curls.
Work in sections and clip some of the hair back to make it easier. Here the curling wand curls are taking shape nicely:
The curling wand waves look beautiful as well:
Both types of curls turned out beautifully! The curling iron side is more defined and reminds us of 2012 style.
On the other side, the looser, California beach vibes waves feel much more current.
Run your fingers through the tight curls if you want to relax them a bit.
The curled side feels more formal and would be perfect for an evening look.

In our opinion, the curling iron curls are great for a more formal look while the curling wand waves are perfect for a daytime, cool look.
