DIY Bath Detox: 8 Easy Steps to Melt Your Worries Away
There is so much happening in the world right now and it's important that we recenter. So, in this tutorial, I am sharing an easy detox bath DIY for you to try out at home. Follow along to learn how to make a simple DIY detox bath that will restore your sense of calm so you can keep facing the world!
Tools and materials:
- Epsom salt
- Baking soda
- Bentonite clay
- Strawberries
- Grapefruit
- Cucumber (optional)
- Essential oil (optional)
- Mint leaves
- Water
- Jug and jar
- Dry brush or shower glove
- Bathtub and shower
- Soft towels
- Scented candle
- Fresh flowers
- Meditation app
1. First, make a detox spa drink!
To make this delicious detox spa drink, cut up:
- Strawberries
- Grapefruit slices
- Cucumber (optional)
- Fresh mint leaves
Put the ingredients into a jug and add clean water. Let the mixture steep for a while, until you’re ready for your detox bath.
2. Mix your detox bath ingredients
To make your detox bath product, thoroughly mix together:
- 2 cups of Epsom salt
- 1 cup of baking soda
- 1 to 2 tablespoons of bentonite clay
- 20 drops of your favorite essential oil, if you wish (I use lavender)
3. Set the mood
Aesthetics do matter, and here’s how you can set the best aesthetic experience for your DIY detox bath.
- Light a beautiful scented candle.
- Treat yourself to a few lovely flowers.
- Prepare a few soft, fluffy bath cloths.
- Find a good meditation app on your phone (and set your phone to Do Not Disturb!)
- And, then, pour yourself a tall glass of detox water.
4. Draw your detox bath
Fill your tub with warm water and then pour in all of your detox bath mixture. Combine the bath mixture into your bath water to distribute it well and even out the clay color.
5. Make a detox face mask
Mix some water into some bentonite clay until you get a face mask texture.
Use a makeup brush to apply the face mask all over your face.
6. Dry-brush your skin
Use a dry brush on your legs, feet, arms, hands and body.
When you are dry brushing, always stroke the brush towards your heart.
If you don’t have a dry brush, you can use an exfoliating bath or shower glove.
The objective of dry brushing is to stimulate what is just beneath your skin, and either a brush or glove will achieve that.
7. Start your soak
Finally, everything is ready and it’s time to climb into your detox bath and start soaking.
Don’t forget to use your meditation app while you are soaking. It will help focus your mind away from the world and will distract you from any feelings of being hot or sweating that this detox bath will cause.
Throw a few of those flower petals into the bath for extra luxuriousness.
Remember to drink your detox drink. This will keep you hydrated and also help keep you a bit cooler and more comfortable.
8. After your bath
Stay in your detox bath for about 15-20 minutes. Then drain the bath, get out, and wash off your face mask with a soft towel.
Then rinse off under the shower with cold water to remove any salt or clay left on your skin.
Detox bath DIY
Try this DIY detox bath right before you go to bed. Then climb into bed with some soft, cozy bedding and melt away into a nice deep, relaxing sleep.

Sounds like a lot of exotic ingredients and a lot of time and prep. I'd just as soon have an easier bath or shower and a nap.
