How to Easily Make a Fast & Fun DIY Incredibles Costume for Halloween
Halloween is approaching, and boy oh boy do I have a great costume idea for you. In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to make a DIY Incredibles costume. It is super easy to make, hardly takes any time, and the finished result looks amazing.
I did try this DIY out twice and tweaked the method of making an Incredibles t-shirt a little bit the second time, so before you get cracking with this, I’d advise you to first read through the whole tutorial so that you can see what my tweak was, and then you can get started!
Tools and materials:
- Red t-shirt
- Three printed pictures of The Incredibles logo
- Fabric spray paint in black, white, orange, and yellow
- Paper
- Rubber gloves
- Scissors
1. Spray orange
Take one of your pieces of paper with The Incredibles logo on it and cut out the orange part of it, making sure that all of the other colors remain intact. Place this piece of paper in the center of your t-shirt and spray the open areas with orange spray paint.
You’ll want to wear rubber gloves for this to make sure that the spray doesn’t go on your hands.
Tip: To ensure that the spray doesn’t go anywhere else on the t-shirt, place four pieces of paper around your logo piece. Place spray cans or heavy items on these pieces of paper to make sure that they stay in place.
2. Spray black
Take your next piece of paper with The Incredibles logo on it and this time only cut out the black part, making sure that all the rest of the design stays intact.
Place the picture in the center of your t-shirt, making sure that it is in the same exact spot where you placed the other one. Proceed to spray the cut-out design black.
3. Spray yellow
Next, take your third piece of paper with the logo on it and cut out the yellow area only. Then, you guessed it, place it on the t-shirt and spray with yellow spray paint.
As you can see, the top part of the letter ‘i’ has a white circle in it, and we want this to stay white. So cut out the circle and hold it in place with your finger; this will ensure that the yellow spray paint doesn’t go there.
4. Spray white
The last step is to spray the little circle with white spray paint.
Top tip!
I did this DIY a second time, and I found that you can spray the white spray paint under the orange and yellow sections for better results. This slight tweak will help the orange and yellow colors to be more prominent and visible.
