How to Make a DIY Nail Art Ring Palette Out of Gel Nail Polish
In this DIY, I’m going to show you how to create a nail art ring palette. That’s right; we’re going to be making a cute ring that you can wear when you’re painting your nails with a palette on it.
The palette allows you to put some polish on it that you can use to paint your nails, so you don’t have to keep dipping into the bottle each time. This is so easy to make, so let’s get started!
Tools and materials:
- UV lamp
- Plastic strip
- Clear nail polish
- Colored gel polish
- Thin nail brush
- Scissors
- Nail file
1. Apply base coat
Apply a base coat to the plastic strip and then cure it under a UV light.
2. Apply gel color
Once cured, apply a gel color on top. I mixed white with orange to create a peach tone. Once again, place the plastic strip under the UV light to cure it.
3. Apply top coat
Next, apply a top coat and then cure it.
4. Cut, file, and shape
Peel your strip of color off the plastic and cut, file, and shape it until you get an oval shape.
5. Apply base coat
The next step is to apply a base coat around the top of a nail polish bottle. This will create the ring for your wearable palette. Then cure it.
6. Apply gel polish and top coat
Next, apply your gel polish on top of the base coat and cure it. Then apply a top coat and cure it and remove the ring from the top of the bottle.
7. Design your palette
Now design your palette. I took a dark brown color and used it to paint a thick line around the oval. Cure it under UV light.
8. Stick your ring to the palette
Apply some base coat to the back of your oval and stick the ring on top of it. Then cure under the UV light.

Now you have a ring that you can wear while painting your nails. All you need to do is dab some nail polish onto the ring and use that to paint your other nails.
That way, you don’t need to keep dipping into the nail polish bottle every time. When you’re finished, simply rub the nail polish off of the ring, and you can use it next time you paint your nails. Enjoy!
