Get rid of the appearance of dark circles under the eyes with this brilliant, natural eye cream DIY. Sometimes concealers and correctors just aren’t enough!

We’ll give you a hint: Our not-so-secret ingredient is coffee oil. Most of the products you can get at the health food store. The coffee essential oil I ordered on Amazon.

But, for extra credit, you can make it yourself using coffee grounds. You basically mix them with a base oil, then extract the coffee oil through a cheesecloth.

Tools and materials:

  • ¼ cup coconut oil
  • ¼ cup soy wax (or beeswax)
  • 2 small, microwave safe bowls and a metal spoon for mixing
  • 1 teaspoon jojoba oil
  • Vitamin E oil
  • Coffee essential oil
  • Small clear plastic jars with lids
Preparing the base oils

1. Prepare base oils

Melt the coconut oil and soy wax oil separately. The soy wax oil takes a bit longer. Heat it in increments until fully melted. Then mix them together.

2. Add jojoba and vitamin E oil and coffee essential oil

Add 1 teaspoon jojoba oil directly into the base oils.

Then add a ½ teaspoon of vitamin E oil as well.

Finally, add 10-12 drops of coffee essential oil, then mix the ingredients well.

3. Separate into small containers

Spoon a bit into those round small, clear plastic tubs with lids.

You can either let them sit overnight to harden, or if you’re in a rush just pop it into the fridge for about half an hour.

4. Use it!

Apply generously under the eyes.

Pro tip: use your pinkie finger to apply gently on this delicate area of skin. It doesn’t feel oily which is why we love it. It’s the soy wax that gives it a creamy feeling.
