Does Blue Mascara Make Blue Eyes Pop? Read This Tutorial to Find Out
How do you wear blue mascara with blue eyes? Let's find out! In this tutorial, I will show you an eye makeup look with blue mascara.
We are going to play with bright colors but in a natural way because I really prefer a natural approach to makeup.
I love color, but I don’t want everyone to see the color on my eyes before they see me. I want them to see me, and I want the color to bring out my eyes instead of the makeup being the thing that stands out.
Let's learn how to pair blue mascara with blue eyes.
Tools and materials:
- Blue mascara
- Blue eyeliner
- Eyeshadow
- Makeup brush
- Eyelash curler
1. Apply eyeshadow
For this look, I went with some eyeshadows in cool tones. I really like pairing cobalt blue with bright blues and grays.
Don’t be afraid to pair your blue mascara with warm colors like corals because blues can be stunning with coral tones too.
Taupe eyeshadow
First, go with a taupe shade. Put it down as your base color all the way up to your brow, and proceed to blend it in with a blending brush.
Gray eyeshadow
Next, go in with a stony gray and pack it in the outer corner. Swipe it up, into, and above the crease.
Silvery gray eyeshadow
Now take a silvery gray, and put that over it in the crease to lighten up and brighten up the crease, leaving the outer corner matte.
Lastly, go back in with the gray right in the center of your mobile lid. Now the inner corner is that kind of lavendery taupe, and the rest is just all gray.
2. Apply blue eyeliner
The next step is to tightline and do your waterline with a blue eyeliner. It is really brightening when you do this with a bright blue or navy. Then move on to your upper lashline.
Now take a smudger brush, and smudge that line on your upper lashes and make it soft so there are no harsh lines. Also, do some smudging under your eye for a little bit of a smoky eye.
3. Apply blue mascara
Before applying mascara, I’m going to curl my lashes. I’m going to skip the eyelash primer, but you can put that on if you like a more voluminous lash.
Take the blue mascara and put a nice coat on all over your lashes. A trick that I think is really important with this mascara is when you’re doing your top lashes, apply it to the tops of them too. T
his is because when you’re wearing this blue color, you want all of your lashes to be coated, not just the bottoms.
Applying it to the tops as well means that when you’re looking down, you don’t see the color of your natural lashes.
4. Finishing touch
To complete the eye makeup look, go in with the sparkly gray and just hit the inner corner of your eye to add a little sparkle.
Blue mascara with blue eyes makeup tutorial
This is the finished blue mascara makeup look. I’m really happy with how it turned out, and I think the blue mascara makes my blue eyes pop.
I decided to pair this bright eye look with nudes on the rest of my face. This is a really wearable look, and it is a great way to play with color in a natural way. I hope you’ll give it a go!

I have dark brown almost black eyes and I used to wear navy blue mascara. I loved it. Just wanted the ladies to know you don't have to have blue eyes to wear colored mascara :). Dawn Just to let you know you may have "spirits". Have fun :)
