A Little Flounce Never Hurt Nobody!
A little flounce never hurt nobody! [Sew What? Series DIY Dress Butterick 6453]
[DIY Dress made for and modeled by my daughter Mori]
Hello Ya'll I'm back because I was on a roll with this pattern. It was like working in a factory creating three different versions of Butterick 6453 Gertie's pattern. If you didn't get what I said in my last post this dress is SEW easy and SEW cute you'll want to make a few. I used another African print I had in my stash for this dress and I added a little flouncy-ness down there at the bottom.
How I added the flounce to the bottom? Well super quick. I cut out two strips of fabric, I just eyeballed the length I wanted. I did sew them together into a giant circle, hemmed the bottom and added two rows of gather stitches across the top. Gathered my fabric and added the strip to the bottom of the dress and that was all she wrote. Salsa anyone??
Enjoyed the project?
