A little Gold Never Hurt Nobody, But Those Curves Might! [ McCall's M7833]

This new pattern from McCall's was a nobrainer! this pattern has three pieces for this view, just three pieces. The neck facing, the dress front and back are the same piece and the sleeve. So you figure with only three pieces that it's gotta be an easy project and you would be right. I can easily see making several more versions. This dress will also be featured in the Nov/Dec issue of Sewn magazine.

The pattern calls for the use of ribbons for the ties on the side. I opted to take strips of my fabric and sew up my own ribbons. The 45" that the suggest you use was waaaay too long. I also used view D dress with no split, the sleeves of view B and the ribbon instead of elastic, so this dress is not high up on the thigh on view C when gathering is pulled with the ribbon.

I also did not like the neck facing that required interfacing, that took away he stretch that was needed to keep that neckline close to the skin, at least it did for my knit.

This was my first knit project on my Husqvarna Viking Designer Ruby and she came through like a champ! There was no pulling involved the foot held a tight grip on the knit and it was a breeze.
