How to Properly Define Eyebrows Over 50 - Makeup for Mature Faces
Today we’re going to talk about eyebrows. Eyebrow definition is important because not only do your eyebrows frame your eyes, they give proportional symmetry to your whole face.
Eyebrows for older women might thin out from over-plucking, or become unruly. I’m going to show you how to define eyebrows over 50 using makeup by Look Fabulous Forever, but you can recreate the same techniques with your preferred eyebrow makeup you have at home.
Tools and materials:
- Spoolie brush
- Eyebrow makeup
These are my eyebrows before. As you can see, they're quite light and the ends are quite sparse, so they need filling and defining to help bring my face to life.
1. Groom
To begin, use a spoolie brush to groom your brows. This is an essential step to make sure that the hairs of your eyebrows are all sitting in the right place and facing the same direction before you begin defining them with color.
2. Build color
Next, begin building the color up on your eyebrows using light, feathery strokes. Follow the natural line of your brows until you are satisfied with the color and definition.
3. Pay attention to the corners
Draw an imaginary line from the outer corner of your eye to the end of your eyebrow, and make sure not to go past this line as you apply the product.
4. Fix it up
Use the brush to go over any areas you may have missed or you feel might need more color or definition.
5. Brush
Use the spoolie brush again to fix the shape and remove any excess product that might make your eyebrows appear a bit too dark. This second brushing will help make the color look as natural as possible.
