Get this beautiful, sleek bun hairstyle with just 1 hairpin! This is perfect if you’re new to styling your hair and it even works well with thin, straight hair.

Tools and materials:

  • Hair brush 
  • Fine tooth tail comb
  • Clear hair elastic
  • Hairspray
  • Pearl pin

1. Part your hair

Part your hair down the middle.


2. Tame the sides and make a ponytail

Use a brush to flatten the hair on either side of your middle part, pulling the hair back into a low ponytail.

Hold the hair taut and secure the ponytail with a clear hair elastic.

3. Braid

Make a braid from the ponytail, starting from behind your head. Then bring the braid forward to finish it.

4. Make a bun

Hold the base with 1 hand, then twist the braid around the base.

5. Stick a pin in it

Take a large hairpin, with a pearl if you’d like, and push it into the ends of the braid to secure the bun in place.

6. Apply hairspray

Apply hairspray to the front to stop flyaways while covering your eyes.

Apply some to the bun as well.

While the spray is still wet, run a fine tooth comb through the front sections to ensure they are extra sleek.

    I've been doing this style since I was a child (61 now) I have baby fine hair so the bun is much smaller. I use 3 pins because my hair wants to be straight. You can make the bun higher by adjusting the height of the pony.
