Ever wonder how to fix a broken powder compact? Well wonder no more! **scroll to the end for a short video on the process**

It’s been a minute since I’ve checked in over here! Life has been busy as usual. Also, I’ve lacked motivation to start on any new projects so there’s that 🙂

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! I worked at the hospital for most of the day, but I was able to leave early and spend the afternoon with my kids, grandkids, and mom. We hung out at our house and ate some yummy food. I made a s’mores dessert with cute Peeps bunnies on top. It was amazing even if it did take 3 days to clean the casserole dish.

I recently bought a Milani bronzing powder and loved it. Overall I really like most of the Milani products. Not to mention the prices are great!!!

Unfortunately, after only 1 week the powder was all crumbled and broken from traveling with it. I initially tried to just deal with it and leave it flat, but every dang time I opened it powder went everywhere.

How to Fix a Broken Powder Compact

Items Needed:

  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Spray Bottle
  • Q-tip or lint free cloth
  • Optional items: latex gloves and/or a spoon or something similar to use to press the powder.

I have no clue why I never thought to fix a broken compact in the past. I read several different ways to do this and figured what’s the worst that can happen… I break a broken compact! Below are the steps that I followed.

First, add rubbing alcohol to your spray bottle. Some tutorials say to mix alcohol and water, but I used straight rubbing alcohol.

To press the powder back into the compact you can use your fingers, or an item such as a spoon. You can also wear latex gloves if you would rather, but I didn’t.

Of course wash your hands and then>>> Start by smoothing the powder out as evenly as you can and then spray the powder with rubbing alcohol. Be sure your sprayer is set to spray and not stream.

Use the tips of your fingers and press the powder into your compact. If you feel like the powder isn’t compressing back into the compact or if you have a lot of the powder sticking to your fingers, then you may need to give it another spray with alcohol. Don’t worry about the mess on your fingers… it will wash off 🙂

Once you have the powder back pressed into your compact take your fingers and gently go in a circular motion to smooth out the surface.

Use the q-tip or lint free cloth and clean up any excess powder on the lid and rims.

Now let this sit for 24 hours. Your powder should then be good to use! If it's still lose after sitting for 24 hours then repeat the process and let it sit for another 24 hours.
