How to Fill in Thin Brows: 6 Steps to Natural, Fuller-Looking Eyebrows

If you have thin eyebrows like me, you need this tutorial! I will be showing you how to fill in thin brows to make them look natural.
I was never blessed with "nice" eyebrows. I plucked my eyebrows a lot in the 70s and 80s - that's what everybody did - so thin eyebrows are what I'm working with.
I never used to do much to my eyebrows until I saw a YouTube video one day where the girl put a lot of product on her eyebrows. At first, I thought, "Oh no, that is too much!" but in the end, it looked so good!
So, I've developed my own eyebrow routine and wanted to share it with you.
Tools and materials:
- Eyebrow brush
- Eyebrow pencil
- Brow dip
- Brow gel
1. Prep your eyebrows
Brush out your eyebrows with an eyebrow brush. This will help make your eyebrows less messy-looking.
2. Outline your brow
Using an eyebrow pencil, outline your eyebrows gently. Make sure to follow the natural growth of your hairline so that it looks more natural.
I like to use an eyebrow pencil because I can sharpen it to be as sharp as I want. In general, I like to make sure the tip is very sharp.
3. Fill in your brow
Once you finish outlining your brows, fill them in. Use very tiny, natural, hair-like strokes to mimic the hairs.
My eyebrows are extremely thin and short. If your brows are like mine, you need to be very careful with this step to make sure they look as natural as possible.
4. Enhance the color
Once you have the basic shape down, go in with some brow dip.
Apply lightly to the outer corner of your brow only. I find that using it towards the front of my eyebrow makes them look too dark.
This will help set the eyebrow and keep it looking fresh all day long.
I found that if I don’t use it, my eyebrows sweat off throughout the day.
5. Clean up the brows
Go in with the eyebrow pencil again to clean them up and fill in any gaps or unnatural-looking spots.
Sometimes I add a little arch to give my brows a little lift.
6. Set your brows
Apply clear brow gel. This acts like hair spray to set the brows in place for the day. It does make my brows a little stiff but that's okay.
Tip: I like to keep some eyebrow pencils in my purse to fill in my brows throughout the day in case they come off a little. One time I went to the hair salon and my eyebrows were washed right off so I was able to draw them right back on.
