Lots of people like curtain bangs, but not everyone knows how to style them.

Today, I will show you how to style curtain bangs with a round brush so that your bangs look neat yet voluminous at the same time and also angled in the right direction.

Tools and materials:

  • Round brush
  • Heat protectant spray
  • Comb
  • Hair dryer
  • Hair straighteners
  • Dry shampoo
Spraying heat protectant

1. Spray heat protectant

Start with freshly washed hair and spray some heat protectant into your hair.

Parting hair

2. Part hair down middle

Comb your hair and part it down the middle because you do really need to have a middle part for curtain bangs.

3. Blow dry bangs

Now blow dry your bangs. I always start with my bangs first because you want to make sure to get these dry before they start air drying, as otherwise, they're not going to lay right.

I like to blow dry my bangs forward first, then to the right, and then to the left, so they kind of start laying the way we want.

4. Brush bangs under heat

Next, take your round brush, blow dry your bangs forward, and just roll the brush under them.

Then blow dry that forward, curl it under, and again blow drying your bangs down.

Proceed to part your bangs off down the middle and now focus on shaping them. Take your round brush, go behind the hair, and then blow dry it forward and out.

You're kind of pulling it towards your forehead and then pulling it away from your face. This will give your bangs that swooping shape. Then take the brush under and round brush them forward.

The key to bangs is there's not just one direction you need to take them, you have to blow dry them a few different ways.

Everyone's hair is different, but this is the best technique I have found to get the most consistent results with curtain bangs.

5. Blow dry rest of hair and bangs again

Once you’ve gotten them dry and gotten the shape that you like, go ahead and blow dry the rest of your hair.

Then come back after you’ve blow-dried the rest of your hair just to reshape them and make sure they're laying how you want.

Straightening bangs

6. Straighten bangs

Now go in with a flat iron just to reshape them a little if you need to. Pull small sections down towards your face with a little curl under.

7. Apply dry shampoo

Dry shampoo is a big lifesaver with curtain bangs because many people’s bangs tend to get oily, and you don't want to wash them every day.

So dry shampoo is great it gives them a little volume and a little bit more texture so they don't lay so flat.
