Genius No-sew Hack for Adjusting Waistband to Jeans
Here, I’m going to give you an amazing hack for making an adjustable waistband for your jeans. The best part is that there is no sewing required.
Follow along as I show you what to do!
Tools and materials:
- Jeans
- Exacto knife
- Shoelace
- Safety pin
1. Create a hole
Grab a pair of oversized or baggy jeans, and using your Exacto knife, cut a little hole by the button.
You don’t want to run the knife through the waistband. You just want to go through the first layer of fabric.
2. Repeat
Do the same on the other side - create a hole next to the buttonhole, only going through the first layer of fabric.
3. Add holes behind the tab
Because most jeans have this tab that is secured with a seam, create two more holes in the inside of the jeans on the outer sides of those two stitches.
4. Thread shoelace through
Attach a safety pin to a shoelace and run it through the channels that you created.
So start at the first hole, which is the buttonhole, and then run it all the way through to the hole next to the tab.
Then, bring the shoelace outside to go around the tab and then bring it inside the other hole next to the tab.
Run that all the way through to the last hole.
Put on the jeans and adjust them how you want!
You can keep the jeans looser if you want them to be low-waisted.
