Your new favorite going out top is actually tights and a no-sew DIY.

Grab some scissors and an old or thrifted pair of tights and follow along.

This is an incredibly easy DIY and you will love the end results.

Tools and materials:

  • Tights
  • Scissors
  • Marker or sewing chalk
Marking tights

1. Two “U”s

Lay your tights out flat and grab a marker or some sewing chalk.

You’re going to be drawing and then cutting out two U-shaped pieces, one for the bust and one for the strap.

Marking tights

The first U-shape should be about 6-7 inches wide. It could be wider or more narrow depending on your frame.

Then draw and cut the second U shape which should be 1.5 – 2 inches wide.

2. Wrap, clip, thread

Place the larger piece of fabric around your neck, criss-cross it over your bust, and tie it at the back.

Adjust the fabric over your bust as needed.

Snipping fabric

Next, use your scissors to snip 2 small holes for the strap by the inner, bottom edges of the bust.

Wrapping straps

Wrap the strap around your back and thread it through the holes.

Criss-cross and wrap the straps back around your body and tie at the back.
