Bella Hadid Coperni DUPE Tutorial
I saw a photo of Bella Hadid wearing a Coperni top that I loved. This is a perfect upcycle if you’ve just started sewing.
I used an infinity scarf which I had to supplement with another fabric.
I’d strongly suggest you get a long sleeved stretchy top from the thrift store, which will make it so much easier.
Tools and materials:
- Long sleeved stretchy top
- Seam ripper
- Measuring tape
- Pins
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
1. Plan your fabric
The top consists of two sleeves connected by a rectangular panel.
The bandeau top ties at the back. I had to use a toning fabric for the ties.
2. Make the sleeves
I unpicked the ends of the scarf with a seam ripper so I could use as much of the fabric as possible. I checked that it would go over my arms.
I hemmed the top of each sleeve. Use a zigzag stitch if your fabric is stretchy.
3. Center panel
I cut a rectangle of fabric 17 inches long by 4 inches wide (43 cm by 10 cm) and joined the short edges to the top of the sleeves with the right sides together.
4. Bandeau
I cut two side straps from a toning fabric. They’re 11 inches (28 cm) long and I tapered them at one end to make them easier to tie.
I joined them to each side of my remaining piece of scarf fabric.
5. To wear
Thread the bandeau top under the center sleeve panel.
Adjust the bandeau over your bust and tie it at the back.

As you can see, it’s flattering on so many different sizes.
It’s entirely up to you how much or little coverage that you want.
