Learn How to Refashion Old White Jeans Into Fun and Trendy Pants
Have a pair of old white jeans at home and some fabric markers? Looking for some fabric marker ideas? You don’t need fancy schmancy artist talent to personalize and make unique jeans. If you know how to hold a marker and doodle, you can do easy creative doodle art. Follow along to learn how to use fabric markers to do colorful doodle art and make some unique jeans.

Tools and materials:
- Jeans (white)
- Fabric markers: black and colors
- Pen and paper
1. Prep
Put on your white jeans and decide where you’ll want to doodle.
Prepare your design on paper if you need inspiration. Otherwise, imagine your jeans are like a piece of paper and you’re back in boring Mrs. Oberlander’s class. I used to draw squiggles and lightning bolts on my notebook paper. Take off your jeans and place them on a flat surface. Draw your favorite doodles on your white jeans. Don’t limit yourself to just doing this on your own white jeans. You can get kids to do this as well for a customized and totally personalized look.
2. Start doodling
I like to start on the front of one leg. There is no wrong way of doing this. Keep going until you’re happy with your black-and-white doodles. I also like to write words.
3. Start coloring
You can do all sorts of things with fabric markers. Don’t limit yourself to just one color per doodle. You can blend colors together to create a newish color. You can add contrasting colors to highlight shapes both inside and outside.
You can use complementary colors to add some more dimension and depth. I also like to add some grey or another neutral color on the outside of the doodle as shading.
4. Finish the jeans
Flip the jeans over and do the back in black and white. Then color in your unique jeans.
