Today, I’m going to show you how to make dangle earrings with beads.

We’re going to be expanding our jewelry-making skills and learning how to wrap beads with wire. Follow along as I take you through what to do step by step.

Tools and materials:

  • Round nose pliers
  • Long nose pliers
  • Cutter tools
  • Marquis earring hooks
  • Blue-gray boulder opals
  • 22 gauge wire
Cutting wire

1. Cut wire

Put the wire through your bead. You’re going to want more on one side than the other.

On the shorter side, bend the wire to bring it up to the top, and on the longer side, cut a lot of wire as that’s the wire we’ll be wrapping with.

Bending wire

2. Bend wire

Take your long nose pliers, pinch the wire on either side just above the bead, and bring the two pieces of wire right beside each other.

Wrapping smaller piece

3. Wrap smaller piece

Bring the smaller wide forward and start wrapping it around the larger piece twice.

Then, go in with your cutter tool and cut off the excess wire really close.

Bending long wire

4. Bend the long wire

Take your round nose pliers and bend the long wire back at a 90-degree angle.

Adding hook

5. Make a loop and add hook

Then, bring the wire around again to make a loop. Thread the marquis earring hook onto the loop.

Wrapping wire

6. Wrap the wire

Hold the loop with the pliers and start wrapping down.

Make sure that the wire is tight around itself. Squish it together with the pliers to make sure the wire is night and tight.

First, you will start wrapping around the bottom of the wire, and then you will bring it over the bead.

Cut the end of the wire when you get as far down as you want. Use the cutter to push the wire together.

Making second earrings

7. Make second earring

Repeat for the other earring.
