In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to make chain-link friendship bracelets out of safety pins and beads!

You can also make this longer if you'd prefer to make a cute necklace!

Let’s get started.

Tools and materials:

  • Safety pins
  • Beads
  • Jump rings
  • Lobster clasp
  • Pliers
Adding beads to safety pin

1. Open your safety pins

These friendship bracelets are made by decorating safety pins instead of strings, so you’ll need to open them to slide your choice of decorations on.

2. Add the decorations

You can use any charms and beads you like, but I’m using different-sized clear and green beads.

For each link, play around with different sizes and orders for your beads to make your designs more unique and fun.

3. Connect them with jump rings

To turn your safety pins into a bracelet, connect each piece with jump rings.

Connecting with jump rings

Simply attach two safety pins to one jump ring.

Make sure your chain is long enough to wrap around your wrist.

4. Attach a clasp

Attach a lobster claw clasp to a jump ring.

Then attach the final jump ring to the end of your final safety pin, so you can enclose it around your wrist.
