5 Chic Spanx Faux Leather Leggings Outfits, From Casual to Dressy
In this tutorial, I'm going to show you how to style Spanx faux leather leggings outfits. I watched the Yves Saint Laurent 2020 Fall fashion show online, and I fell in love with the latex leggings from their collection. They were stunning!
Obviously, I couldn’t afford them, but several lookalikes started popping up, so I was able to buy a pair! If you have no idea how to style these bad boys, I’m going to show you five different ways to style Spanx faux leather leggings.
Spanx faux leather leggings review
Before we get started, I have a bit of a review and a few tips for you guys. Firstly, they can be quite tough to put on! I actually had to stop halfway and give myself a break. Once they’re on, they’re comfortable and they fit fine but to put them on is an exercise!
The second point about these pants is that they make a lot of noise. It’s like the pant equivalent to squeaky sneakers! Some people suggest putting oil or lotion on your thighs before you put them on, this is supposed to make them easier to put on and they won’t squeak as much when you walk.
I haven’t tried it myself but it might be worth a go! If you wear the pants to a club or a loud restaurant then people won't hear the squeaking of the pants so much.
1. Oversized sweater and combat boots
If you’re going for something tight below, it’s always a great idea to pair it with something baggy up top. This sweater brings some color to the outfit, and because it also contains black in the pattern, it ties in nicely with the pants and boots.
I really like how edgy and different the pattern on the sweater is, and the bright horizontal line provides a fun pop of color.
2. Sheer button-up shirt, blazer & knee-high boots
This look was definitely inspired by the Saint Laurent F/W 2020 collection with the dark, moody tones that give off a sense of mystery and power.
The great thing about an all-black (or mostly black) outfit such as this is the different textures you get from each of the pieces. These different textures add personality and keep the look interesting and trendy.
Also, if you don’t want to go all-out monochrome, you can easily add a little touch of color with a printed blouse, as I’ve done here.
3. One shoulder top & black pumps
I love how the asymmetrical top I’m wearing automatically adds character to the outfit. While the print is fairly simple, the cut of the top is the centerpiece and the talking point of the outfit. I paired it with the Spanx leggings and some black heels as we have a chic look.
4. White sleeveless bodysuit, cropped quilt jacket & white sneakers
Everything about this cropped quilt jacket, from the design to the material to the cut, is bold and unapologetic, and it’s a real statement piece. I adore the loose-fitting and voluminous fit and think it contrasts really well with the tight leather leggings.
5. Racerback tank, ankle boots & delicate jewelry
Lastly, we have a simple look that you can elevate using jewelry. I’m wearing a no-frills gray tank top, and then I accessorized with two delicate necklaces and have on hoop earrings and a bold watch.

These leggings are not for everyone, and they do divide opinion, but I’m a fan, and while I wouldn’t wear them every day, I think they’re stylish and flattering and an asset to my wardrobe
