Make Your Own Cleansing Balm With Just 2 Simple Ingredients
If you’re finally heading out on a trip, a cleansing balm is a great option for packing, because you won’t have to worry about your cleansing oil leaking into your luggage. Plus, it's super-easy to make, as there are only two ingredients.

Tools and materials:
- Cleansing oil
- Beeswax
- Double boiler
- Water
- Small bowls or glass containers
1. Make the cleansing balm
For a full recipe, melt together 90 grams (3.17 ounces) of cleansing oil and 10 grams (0.35 ounces) of beeswax (or, an emulsifying wax, such as polawax) over a double boiler.
You can make the cleansing oil yourself or you can use your favorite store-bought cleansing oil for this cleansing balm recipe.
Let the mixture cool completely until it becomes a balm consistency. Mine only took 15-20 minutes to get like this.
2. How to use your DIY cleansing balm
Remove your makeup and false eyelashes before you start to apply the DIY cleansing balm. Rub some cleansing balm between your hands and then massage it all over your face.
Wet your hands and rub the cleansing balm in some more. The balm will become milky in texture. Then, completely wash the balm off your face. You may need to use a damp face cloth as well.

You may find that there is a bit of a waxy film left on your face even after rinsing, but that’s OK. It will disperse and the balm will do its job.
