5 Easy Mascara Hacks for Gorgeous Lashes
Today, I’m sharing some of my favorite mascara hacks.
I do these when I want my lashes to look longer, fuller, and more voluminous.
If you have an extra moment to make your lashes pop, these hacks work really amazing together. Let’s get into it!
Tools and materials:
- Eyelash curler
- Mascara
- Eyeliner
1. Curl your lashes
I don’t use an eyelash curler daily, but when I do, I use it before applying mascara because it makes all of the difference.
Clamp your lashes for 15-20 seconds and you’ll have a slight curl after you release the clamp.
2. Apply three coats with different mascaras
Ideally, your first mascara should have hard, plastic bristles that are more like a comb than a brush.
This mascara is great for coating each lash individually.
Brush your lashes from the bottom and the top. A lot of people skip or forget to coat the top of their lashes, but it’s a really important step.
Your second mascara should have a wider and fluffier wand that’s more brush-like.
Do the same thing as before; coat the top and bottom of the lashes until you’ve got them all.
You can blink into the wand and even gently spin it to make sure the product is getting onto those hairs.
For the final coat, use that first mascara to help separate, elongate, and set the lashes into place.
3. Clean up your mascara after it’s dry
Use a Q-tip for a quick cleanup.
It’s best to wait until the mascara has dried on the skin before removing it.
If you try to clean it while it’s still wet, it will smudge and make a big mess.
4. Use the tip of the wand to coat the lower lashes
Move the tip of the wand left to right across the lower lashes to coat them.
A little bit goes a long way here. Making your bottom lashes pop is a game-changer.
5. Apply a black eyeliner
Use an easy-to-apply black eyeliner crayon and line the high line. This will really make the lashes pop and create a clean look.
Mascara hacks
Here’s the before and after! If you want, you can go back in with the eyelash curler and clamp the lashes one more time but I’m going to skip that.
As you can see, the difference is absolutely remarkable! These bold lashes are a fabulously natural result that requires very little effort.
