3 Ways to Style a Faux Leather Cape-blazer

Half cape half blazer you get the best of both worlds with this fashion staple. Take it up a notch with a faux leather one, it can create a lot of fun outfits!

The cape blazer is a great choice to have the look of a blazer but a nice airy and breezy flow to not get overheated wearing too many layers, especially if you live in a warmer state as I do.

My blog is all about buying vintage and 2nd hand pieces to create unique looks on a budget. All of the clothing pieces I am wearing in the below photos were thrifted. I found 2 of these capes one in black and this pretty orange one both perfect for fall and only $10 each at my local Goodwill. I snapped them both up. These will go with so many things. The orange color is off in all the photos below, it makes the orange very bright but this photo is closer to the color it actually is.

Outfit 1-Depending on how your cape blazer is made, you should be able to wear a belt with it, putting it around your waist but not around the back of the cape piece. This helps to define the waist. Pulling the orange out of the plaid pants and combining it with a turtleneck gives a dressy office look. Adding the fedora and the BeBe oxford heels just gives it a little kick.

Outfit 2-Plaid maxi skirts and boots are the way to go for chilly months, with so many colors you can make multiple outfits. I bought this maxi skirt for $8 at Goodwill. It's a vintage piece and looks just as great today as it did years ago. They are truly a timeless piece. The hint of orange in the skirt is picked up by the cape blazer which pulls that color to the forefront. Adding a beret gives it a fun look but is also nice and warm for those cold days that are coming. The cape blazer is the perfect compliment for fall since it is not adding too many heavy layers but gives the outfit a more finished look. The navy boots I am wearing are from another post I did on painting boots, another season has passed and they are still holding up well!

Outfit 3- A cape blazer is a perfect addition to just about any dress. I love leopard and orange together and wear that combo a lot in the fall months. You can wear it with the belt out or in to switch the look up. It's still warm here in Texas but chilly in the evenings, the cape blazer fights off the chill and looks great doing it.

Cape blazers come in all fabrics and colors, I like the faux leather option simply because you don't see it all the time. If you would like one for yourself, this one is almost identical to mine, found on Amazon for $33-44.

Shein.com also has them in just black for $25. They offer free shipping when you order on Sundays. I highly recommend a cape blazer in any color and fabric. They are a fun and fashionable piece you can wear year round. I am working on a project right now of making one from a thrifted blazer, check back in to see how it turns out!

Blessings,

Eden
