This holiday season, I have a new and fun party makeup look to share with you.

Try this look, featuring foil-flecked gold eyeshadow that would be perfect for a night-time party but is light enough to work for a daytime look as well.

Tools and materials:

  • Foundation
  • Assorted makeup brushes
  • Beauty blender
  • Matte eyeshadows: Bone-colored, rosy/brown, purple/dark brown
  • White base pencil
  • Pink/gold foil eyeshadow
  • Eyelash curler
  • Bronzer
  • Rose-colored liquid blush
  • Light pink lip pencil
  • Lip gloss
Applying foundation

1. Apply foundation

Start by applying foundation and spreading it evenly with a brush.

Then press it in with a damp, beauty blender.

2. Start with matte eyeshadow

Apply a bone colored matte eyeshadow to the brow bone and inner corner of your eyes.

Next, apply a rosy brown shade through the socket of your eyes, from the inner to outer corners.

Then buff what’s left on the bristles up toward the brow bone.

Now tap a purply/dark brown shadow to press it onto the outer third of your mobile lids in a triangular shape.

Applying eyeshadow

Dip a crease brush in the rosy/brown shade and buff out the outer corners, pulling it outward toward the tail of the eyebrows.

You can also deepen the purple smoke shade with a tiny brush, if you’d like.

3. Apply a sticky base

Use a white base pencil to apply a sticky base to your eyelids where you’ll want the foil to stick for this party makeup look.

Then dab it in gently with your finger.

4. Dab on a pink/gold foil eyeshadow

Apply a pink/gold foil eyeshadow with your ring finger to the sticky base.

By using your finger, you won’t lose any of the foil pigment to the bristles.

Using a swiping motion will flatten the pigments, making it appear super reflective.

5. Reapply the purple shade

Add more of the purple/dark brown shade to the outer corner and take it toward the foil shade you just applied for a nice transition.

6. Lift your lashes

Add lift to your eyelashes with an eyelash curler.

7. Apply bronzer

Stipple on bronzer at the high points of your cheekbones.

The goal is a bronzed look, more than contour, but the result still gives a sculpted look.

Then use what’s left on the bristles to move forward, onto your cheeks.

Applying bronzer

Add a bit to your hairline as well. You can also brush some of the leftover bronzer down your neck.

8. Apply blush

Apply a rose shade of liquid blush.

9. Line and color your lips

Use a light pink lip pencil to line and then color in your lips.

10. Apply gloss

To finish off your lips, apply a layer of gloss.
