How to Do Adorable Red, Purple, and Pink Valentine's Day Nails

If you’ve never tried nail gel, doing your nails for Valentine’s Day might be the perfect time to try! This Valentine’s Day nail art design tutorial uses red, pink, and purple nail polish shades to fancy Valentine’s Day nails.
Start with a nail gel kit that includes false nails and you can paint the false nails before you apply them.
Tools and materials:
- Gel nail kit
- Nail brushes
- Dotting tool
I'm using the Midnight Party Gel Polish Collection by Modelones, but you could use similar colors, or even completely different colors, to recreate these Valentine's-inspired designs.
1. A pretty little heart
Start with a soft lilac base coat of polish on two nails. White would also work well for this.
Paint a red heart on the end of one of the nails. Start your red heart with two large dots for the top of the heart, and then paint down from each dot to join them in the middle.
Fill in the bottom of the heart with the red polish to complete the design.
Finish with a clear top coat.
2. Star-crossed lovers
Put a coat of deep purple on one nail and then add two large lilac 4-pointed stars and some small lilac dots on the nail.
To make the stars, start with a vertical line about a third of the length of your nail. Then make a shorter horizontal line across the middle of the vertical line and fill in the center for the body of the star.
Finish with a clear top coat.
3. A pretty large heart
On a lilac base coat, paint a red heart at the nail bed end of the nail with glittery nail polish.
Then, outline the heart (except for the edge that’s right along your nail bed) in the dark purple nail polish, using a thin nail brush.
Finish with a clear top coat.
4. A stylized heart
Start with a plain red base coat and then add a coat of sparkly red nail polish.
Now paint a stylized heart outline near the bottom of the false nail with pink nail polish and fill in the heart with purple polish.
5. Three hearts are better than one
Apply a light pink base coat to one nail and add three purple hearts in a vertical row down the middle of the nail.
Then use the purple polish to outline the edge of the entire nail.
Finish with a coat of clear top coat.

Mix and match these five Valentine’s Day nail art designs however you please! Make all your nails the same or use all of the designs at the same time.
You can also, of course, create your own custom Valentine’s nail art designs. Maybe there are some special initials you’d like to display.
