How To Turn Basic Heels To Trendy Neon
I've seen neon heels on every "it" girl this season, including Hailey Bieber and Victoria Beckham. But this trend doesn't have to break the bank...
In fact, this D.I.Y. is so easy and so fun, I wouldn't buy designer neon heels even I could afford them.
Here's how to do it:
- A pair of shoes lighter than the color you'd like to paint them
- Paint brush
- At least 20 ml of acrylic paint per heel
- Electrical tape
- Scissors
Firstly, tape up the edges around the area you'll be painting. This will protect the parts you don't want to paint, and create a smooth edge when we're finished.
Now just go in on the shoes with the acrylic paint. Don't worry about any streaks that appear. When the paint dries, those will blend.
Coat the entire shoe once. Then allow the paint to fully dry (this may take an hour to two hours).
Then go over the shoe with another coat of paint.
Repeat this two or three times until the color is solid!
Peel off the electrical tape only after the last coat has completely dried.
I decided to go for two different but complementary neon colors for each heel.
Don't be afraid to get creative with this D.I.Y!
Don't forget to show your new shoes off to the world.
Love,
Ms. Melior
