Refashioning is magical, it transforms old in to new-to-you!

Grab the super simple steps behind my upcycled DIY crystal glitter shoes and make that preloved pair of thrift shop mules shine!

Grab a pair of plain mules or slides, all purpose glue (or your trusty glue gun), plastic crystals or jewels in varying sizes + some metallic paint for the heels.

I wasn’t thrilled with the colour so I rubbed some turquoise fabric paint into the shoes, stuck some fancy vintage trim around the edge of the shoe opening and painted the heels gold.

Glue on a whole bunch of plastic crystals in whatever pattern you desire. (This is very time consuming but absolutely worth it! Pop on a movie or your fave series while your sticking on the bling and the time will fly by!)

Allow the glue to dry completely and enjoy your sparkling new shoes!

Check out all of my tutorias for the accessorizing here and then continue your passion for upcycling and refashion with my Confessions of a Refashionista e-book series – also makes a fab thrifty gifty for anyone interested in sustainability and DIY!
