My Fluffy Puffy Upcycled Skirt (a Thrifty Celeb Copycat DIY)
My thrifty celeb copycat looks are hilarious fun to recreate! I've shared loads over on my site and one of my absolute faves is my awesome Celine Dion look:
I’m totally in love with my colourful version of her floofy skirt!
Take a peek at how I created my fabulously fluffy puffy skirt from upcycled and preloved materials below!
I grabbed a preloved skirt (with a lining) from the back of my closet and my massive stash of unraveled bath puffs!
I always thoroughly rinse and hang my bath puff to dry after use and change it every few weeks. Before upcycling my bath puffs I make sure they are bacteria and germ free by giving them a soak in an equal parts hot water and white vinegar mixture.
My skirt was longer than Celine’s so I chopped it to my desired length.
Then gave it (and the lining) a nice hem.
I then oh so carefully stitched layer after layer of unraveled bath puffs around the skirt!
I absolutely adore this skirt and it looks pretty fab with a variety of tops and tights!

How would you launder something like that?
re Reply: Thank you. Seeing as how the puffs are used regularly in the shower with soaps and gels I suppose they would be fairly immune to chemical damage but the lingerie bag makes sense so they don't get torn up by other items.
You remind me of Betsy Johnson. She’s so much fun & quirky! Stay happy!
