Whether you're a beginner or a professional, I promise you that this 5-minute spotlight eye technique will soon be your favorite. You can achieve this look in a few simple steps and be all done in 5 minutes. So, without delay, let’s turn on that spotlight on your eyes!

Tools and materials:

  • Brow pencil
  • Kohl eyeliner
  • Dark and light rose-colored eyeshadow
  • Pressed glitter eyeshadow
  • Concealer
  • Liquid highlighter
  • Metallic eye pencil
  • Eyelash curler
  • Mascara
  • Lipstick
  • Lip plump
  • Assorted eye makeup brushes
Filling in brows

1. Apply brow pencil (optional)

Don’t skip this step because eyebrows define and frame your eye makeup. Fill in your eyebrows and define their shape with your favorite brow pencil.

Adding concealer below the brow

2. Add concealer

Add a thin line of concealer right below your eyebrows.

Filling out the line

Then fill out that line going down from your eyebrow.

Using eyeliner as a eyeshadow base

3. A surprising eyeshadow base!

A kohl eyeliner makes a great eyeshadow base because it’s so creamy and blendable. Dot some onto the inner and outer corners of your eyelids.

Using a fingertip to smudge and blend the eyeliner

Then use your fingertip to smudge and blend the eyeliner toward the center of your eyelid. See how smooth and even that looks?

Applying eyeshadow with a finger

4. Apply eyeshadow

Choose a deep rose-colored eyeshadow and use your fingertip to dab and then smudge it over your eyeliner eyeshadow base. Because your eyeshadow base is still a bit sticky, the eyeshadow is going to adhere and stay in place.

Adding highlighter to the center of eyelids

5. Add highlighter to your eyelids

Now add one drop of liquid highlighter to the center of your eyelids.

Spreading it out

And spread it out with your fingertip.

Topping the highlighter with glitter

6. Top with glitter

While the highlighter is still sticky, tap a little pressed-glitter eyeshadow on top of it. There’s your spotlight!

Softening the edges

7. Soften the edges

Use a lighter shade of eyeshadow than you used previously, and blend it at the edges of your eyeshadow.

Lining the lower lash line

8. Line your lower lash line

Apply kohl eyeliner to the outer and inner edges of your lower water line.

Smudging the lower eyeliner

Lightly smudge out the lower eyeliner leaving a dark base in the corners.

Using lighter eyeshadow over the eyeliner

Now use the lighter eyeshadow that you put at the edges of your eyelids over the eyeliner and smudge it out.

Adding a spotlight in the waterline

9. Add another spotlight

Use a metallic eye pencil to add a spotlight to the center of your lower waterline.

Adding glitter to the spotlight

Then just like you did with your eyelid, put a bit of glitter on the spotlight.

Curling lashes and applying mascara

10. Curl lashes and add mascara

Curl your upper eyelashes and apply mascara to your upper and lower lashes to add length and volume.

Applying a soft rose lipstick

11. Balance the look with your lips

Apply a soft rose lipstick to balance the spotlight on your eyes.

Adding some lip plump

For an extra oomph you can add some lip plump.
