My niece is all about what is trendy and cool, so she was the inspiration behind the design. Lace is all over the runway these days, but the prices are sky high so we found the perfect lace and upcycled the tee from her closet.

My 30 Minute No-Sew Lace Trim Tee on a Budget is the perfect way to upcycle those plain tees in your closet. And they were quick and easy, going together in just 30 Minutes!

Here’s what you will need to add Lace Trim to Tees:

Lace at the Neckline:

Measure and cut a length of Fringe Lace Trim a few inches longer than the neckline of the Coral Tee Shirt. Place a section of cardboard, inside the shirt making sure that it is large enough to prevent any glue from seeping through. Starting at a shoulder seam, apply a bead of fabric glue along the neckline, and then place the lace into the glue. Gently tap lace into place. Repeat this process, in sections, around the entire neckline of the tee, working in sections. Let each section dry. Once dry, trim excess lace with scissors and carefully glue the two cut edges of lace together to prevent fraying.

What type of Fabric Glue works best for No-Sew Tees?

This was my first time using the E6000 Fabri-Fuse fabric glue and I have to say that it was super easy to work with. No odor with a quick grab and a flexible bond, so the glue stretches with the trim and the clothing. No strings, no clogging, and a smooth flow of glue from the nozzle. This is glue is a game-changer! Edited to add that the E6000 Fabri-Fuse fabric glue also washes well and keeps a tight bond.

This is such a wonderful idea!! I know my granddaughter would love it!

I hate to be do dense, but where do you use the 5 1/2" Lace trim and the 2 1/2" lace trim. I only found directions for the Lace fringe trim.

    Thanks for your help.

Love this! I bought several different color t-shirts when they were 1/2 off at Hobby Lobby but haven't gotten around to "fancy them up" yet. So glad I saw this before I started! Thanks!
