Looking for a new way to style your hair? Follow along with my simple tutorial to learn a style that’s easier than braiding with the same look.

Tools and materials:

  • 1 clear hair elastic
Making an X

1. Make an X

Grab 2 small sections of hair at the front and center of your hairline with a small gap between them. Cross them to make an X.

2. Criss-cross with new strands on each side

Grab an equally sized section of hair on 1 side and cross it over just the strand closest to that side.

Repeat with another strand on the opposite side.

Continue to criss-cross sections of hair from each side, making sure the pattern doesn’t fall out by holding it with your free hand.

3. Tie it off

When you reach the back of your head, tie off the ends with a clear, hair elastic. Then split the ends of the tail and pull to tighten it.
