Learn how to make a watermelon bath bomb at home. This is a pretty bath bomb made by layering pink and green. I also added glittery poppy seeds to the pink for seeds.

I used a natural watermelon fragrance oil, but you can use a watermelon fragrance oil. I used cream of tartar so these summer bath bombs dry rock hard and have more fizz.

You will need:

Combine the dry ingredient: baking soda, cream of tartar, citric acid, and powdered milk. Stir to combine.

Melt the coconut oil in the microwave. Pour the melted coconut oil, polysorbate 80, and fragrance over the dry mixture.

Use gloved hands to mix it well. Spray with rubbing alcohol or witch hazel if needed. It should hold its shape and look and feel like wet sand. Avoid getting too moist.

Separate the mixture into two bowls. Add 1-2 teaspoons of pink mica to one bowl and green mica to the other one. Add more mica if desired to get the color you want. Mix well.

Mix the poppy seeds and glitter together. Pour into the pick mixture and stir well.

Add the green mixture to one half of the mold. Then add some pink on top and slightly mound the mold. Fill the other mold with pink mixture and overfill. Press the two halves together and twist slightly to form a bath bomb. Tap the mold to release the bath bomb.

Let dry for 24 hours. Store in an airtight container.

You can layer the pink and green to make fun designs.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups baking soda
  • 1 cup citric acid
  • 1/4 cup cream of tartar
  • 1/4 cup Epsom salts
  • 1/4 cup powdered goat's milk or powdered milk
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon polysorbate 80
  • Red and green mica powder
  • Watermelon natural fragrance oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black skin safe glitter
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
  • Bath bomb mold
  • Spray bottle with rubbing alcohol or witch hazel
  • Bowls
Instructions

Melt the coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl for 30 seconds. Stir and heat again as needed.
In a large mixing bowl, combine baking soda, cream of tartar, citric acid, and powdered goat's milk. Stir until combined.
Add the melted coconut oil and watermelon fragrance oil. Then add the polysorbate and stir well. Use gloved hands to break up lumps and really get the mixture combined. Spray with witch hazel or rubbing alcohol as needed. It should feel like wet sand.
Divide the mixture between two bowls. Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of green mica to one bowl and 1 to 2 teaspoons of pink mica to the other bowl. Stir and add more mica as needed.
Mix the glitter and poppy seeds together. Add them to the bowl with the red mixture and stir.
Add the green fruit bath bombs mixture to one of the bath bomb molds. Fill to about 1/2 to 2/3 full. Add the red mixture until the mold is slightly overflowing. Then add red to the other half of the mold and overfill slightly.
Over a small bowl, press the two halves together gently but firmly. Twist gently to remove excess mixture. Tap on the mold to release the melon bath bomb. Let dry for 24 hours.
