  • Curling iron

Applying leave-in conditioner to wavy hair

1. Apply leave-in conditioner

So, once you’re out of the shower and your hair is fresh and wet, go ahead and spray an all-in-one leave-in conditioner.

Now, brush your hair and part it the way you like.

Scrunching hair

2. Scrunch your hair

Now, you need to take out some of the moisture. The best way to do this is to scrunch your hair with a towel. For those who want to know how to scrunch wavy hair into curls - take note!

Wetting hair again

3. Wet your hair & repeat

This may seem counterintuitive, but trust me it works! Wet your hair again with water and then spray more leave-in-conditioner.

Tip: Your hair should be totally sopping wet.

4. Apply curling products

Now, take a generous amount of curling cream or serum and apply it to your hair. I’m using the EverCurl from L'Oréal.

Then, put a tiny bit of Olaplex, too.

5. Let hair air dry

Lastly, go ahead and let your hair air dry on its own. So, I’m going to grab a cup of coffee, and I’ll be back! If you want to blowdry your hair, make sure you use a diffuser.

This is what my hair looks like after! Can you see those defined curls? Yeah!

Curling pieces of hair

6. Curl stray pieces

Of course, there are always a few pieces that need a little extra help! One side of my hair didn't have as defined curls, so I went ahead and curled some individual pieces with my curling iron.

Tip: When wrapping the hair around the curling iron, don't go all the way to the end. This way, you'll get more of a wave than a curl.

Applying hair oil to hair

7. Apply hair oil

Add a small amount of oil to your hair. Argan oil will do the job. Be sure to scrunch your hair up while applying the oil.
